To All Those That Read My Letter,
Why is it that we reflect on true heroes? To me, it is because they are who we should strive to be. They are those that reflect the best in our society. They are those that will help bring true change to our lives and our society. Michael Monsoor has been a hero of mine since the day I heard his story. Though I was never able to be in the military, I honor all of my friends and comrads, brothers and sisters that serve, and hope that I too may be as brave, valient, and patriotic as them.
Each time I hear of a soldier dying in Iraq, Afghanistan, or anywhere on this earth, I feel deep remorse for a loved one who has passed on. At the same time I feel joy and pride that these men and women who have passed on could do so in such an honorable cause as to fight for our freedom as well as those in other countries. If you do not believe that they are doing so, talk to a soldier, talk to a group of them and listen to their stories. They are true heroes.
Michael, as for me and my family, you will not be forgotten. Though I never knew you personally, you are my brother. There is no doubt in my mind that you are a hero through and through and that you will be received with a loving embrace on the other side. You emulate this saying, "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends," spoken by the wisest of men to live on earth.
YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN,
