To All Of Our Readers,

Each day we prepare these memorials for these brave soldiers and loved ones, and no matter how many stories I read, I cry. I literally shed a tear every night for the fallen sons and daughters who have served this country. Though my son is only 20 months old, I hope that he may grow up to be like these brave young souls. Someone of valor, strength, and love. I will try everyday to introduce him to these and other great qualities. A father never really knows if it sinks in until the day he sees his children living those teachings. The fathers and mothers of these brave souls must be honored that their beloved children showed the ultimate sacrifice to protect others.

It also saddens me, that though we prepare these heroes for others to read about and grow from, very few look at them. Out of the thousands that visit this site every day, only a hundred or so desire to see who our heroes truly were and are. Maybe it is something that we are not presenting correctly, but all I know is these brave heroes deserve so much more. I am not criticizing anyone because I may have done the same if not heading this project, but why is it that our heroes are not as important to us these days? Our society is falsely teaching us that sports stars and musicians are our role models while there are so many true heroes out there for us to emulate.

Private First Class Ross A McGinnis is more of a man than I think I could ever be. If I was put in this position, would I have done like him? I do not know. All I know is he should never be forgotten, he should not simply be a name on a plaque or number in a statistic. He was a man, a brother, a son, and a friend to many. He is a true hero and he will never be forgotten.
